Year of the Dragon Inspired Make-up Tutorial

First of all I'd like to say Happy Chinese New Year, I know it's late, sorry! Now that it is year of the dragon I have been inspired to do a little make-up look which is very oriental, using golds and red. Hope you enjoy this look as much as I do!

What I used...

1. Rimmel lipstick in Holler

2. Collection 2000 liquid eyeliner in black

3. Mac Mineralize blush in Dainty

4. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in Vanille Clair

5. Benefit Stay don't stray Primer

6. Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Translucent

7. Unbranded eyeshadow pallette

Step 1. Apply conceler and foundation as normal, I have used Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation in Vanille Clair and Benefit's Stay don't stray primer as my eye primer and conceler but you can use whatever you prefer. I then set my make-up with Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Translucent and applied Mac Mineralize blush to my cheeks.

Eyes

Step 2. Next, I applied a pale gold eyeshadow (number 1.) over the whole of my lid, focusing on the inner corner of the eye so it's like a highlight. You can apply the same colour to your brow bone to create a highlight here also. Then apply a slightly darker gold (number 2.) to 1/3 of your eyelid, leaving the previous colour on the inner corner. Then blend the outer half of the eyelid with a darker gold shade (number 3.). Finally, use a very rich gold/bronze colour (number 4.) for the outer corners of the eyelids, you don't need to blend this as you want it to look bold.

Step 3. Line your eyes with a liquid eyeliner in black and extend the line from the outer corners like a flick to create a cats eye shape. Then apply your mascara. You can also apply false lashes if you prefer, for a more dramatic look.

Lips

Step 4. Apply red lipstick to your lips and you're done!

Bodyline Haul

I recently recieved my order from Bodyline so I will show you the items that I got and what I think of them! (^3^)

I got a cardigan, blouse, shoes, skirt and JSK.

This is the cardigan I got in pink for £17. I love the sugar pink colour and the frilly edges, the fabric is soft too!

I also got this JSK in mint green for £43. It's a really pretty colour and the print is so cute. The lace is also nice quality. Has a waist tie and shirring at the back.

Here's some close-ups...

This is the blouse I got in white for £34. I really love this, all the details are so cute like the pearls, bows and heart buttons. The lace is good quality and it's very nice fitting too as it goes in slightly at the waist. 

I also got this skirt in brown for £17. I think this has to be my favourite item from my order, I just love the print, it's so lovely. It comes with detatchable waist ties and a bow which can be pinned on the front or attached to a headband to make a hairbow. I think I will purchse the JSK of this next as I love the print so much.

The last item I got were these shoes in pink for £26. These are so cute, I love the bow detail and scalloped edging. They are slightly too big for me though so I will have to put an insole in them but that was my fault as I measured wrong!

Here's the bows that came with the JSK and skirt, you can pin them onto the dress or skirt or use them as hairbows.

How much is your face worth?

I decided that I will make a response to this tag that many have been posting on their blogs and it basically is a calculation of the cost of your daily make-up. Comparing mine to some other girls, I realised that my daily make-up is fairly simple and I do try to limit the amount of products I use because I don't like to feel caked in heavy make-up. Outfit of the day!!

I just thought I'd share with you my outfit of the day...

I was wearing my Baby the stars shine bright OP, Loris bag and Primark hair accessories and socks. I got the shoes from Ebay! Great for Lolita's on a budget like myself and I was wearing a cardigan though as it is still not quite warm enough to go without.

New years resolutions

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year!
I thought I'd update with my new year resolutions...

First of all, not to sound negative but last year really was not my year, it was full of disappointment and upset so I'm going to try my best to make this year a good one!

1. Find a better job and save lots of money
2. Go to a language school in Japan for 4-8 weeks or more
3. Get better at Japanese
4. Be happy

Also I intend to keep this blog updated :D but recently I have been ill and my computer is broken xD
